People in the transport industry need to have some qualification certificates. The qualification certificates required by the Ministry of Transport for those who will transport freight are called K certificates. These documents are divided into 3 as K1 Document, K2 Document and K3 Document.
What is a K1 Certificate?
The K1 Certificate is the qualification certificate that the person must have in order to carry out commercial transportation activities with the vehicles he owns. It is a kind of document that can only be given to legal persons and natural persons. If your company is an ordinary partnership, you cannot have a K certificate. K documents cannot be got for vehicles registered to third parties.
K1 Certificate must be owned for the following vehicles;
Vehicles with a total loaded weight of 25 tons and a vehicle capacity of 1 unit for legal persons,
Vehicles with a total loaded weight of 50 tons and a vehicle capacity of 2 units for real persons..
While determining the tonnage limit for this certificate, only motor vehicles are taken into account. Trucks and pickup trucks of real persons transporting commercial goods can weigh up to 35 tons with the load they carry. Trucks and pickup trucks of legal entities and companies holding K1 Certificate can be up to 110 tons with vehicle weight.
The qualifications required of the drivers who will use the vehicles with the K1 Certificate as follows:
To be under the age of 66,
Not to have been convicted of terrorism offenses, customs smuggling, arms, human and drug smuggling and any crime that restricts freedom,
If the products to be transported are classified as dangerous goods, then the persons using the vehicles must have training certificates in this field.
People who drive big buses must be at least 26 years old.
They must have a medical report proving that they can do this work in physical and psycho-technical terms.
Persons who will not carry out commercial transportation in the country must have a K2 certificate in order to carry out transportation activities with commercial or privately registered vehicles. Both natural and legal taxpayers can have a K2 certificate.
In order to have a K2 certificate, natural and legal persons must own at least 1 vehicle. These vehicles are trucks, pickup trucks, centipede trucks, lorries, etc. If your document request is for pickup trucks, the certificate fee is reduced by 75%. The validity of the K2 certificate is 5 years. The certificate must be renewed at the end of the period.
Regardless of the number of vehicles, only one K2 certificate is issued. Another K2 Certificate is not issued for each vehicle, a separate vehicle card is issued for each vehicle. If the taxpayer has both a truck and a pickup truck, no discount is applied for the K2 Certificate. If the taxpayer has a truck, the total loaded weight is 3500 kg. (3.5 tons) vehicles can not benefit from the discounted fees and exemptions.
